Lucky Mama

My beautiful little BFF is 4!!  I am so lucky to have her.  She misses having Kendall at home so much she can hardly function.  Sometimes she literally just lays around staring into space.  But when Kendall is home it's all fun and games all the time.  For the most part, we have fun and keep busy but then there are those times when I'm doing something and she's comatose.  With each kid, I've considered preschool and with Maci I told Dave maybe she really needs it, especially because of the s word (shy) but he doesn't think so.  So she'll probably just stay home with me next year.  She is learning a lot and we do have fun in our own little preschool.  We spend a fair amount of time at the school and she's always awesome.  She's the easiest thing.  If I wanted I could just leave her in her comatose state all day and she'd probably never make a peep as long as she has her two fingers.

Each morning when we drop Kendall off at school I have to roll down Maci's window so they can say, "I love you" to each other and do the "I love you" sign.

She's still a crappy eater and ends up going to bed with her plate still half full each night.  Years ago, when Allie and Det were small, Dave used to tell the kids they only needed to eat three more bites or whatever and I had to put a stop to it because I'm like there's a good chance they only had three bites on their plate in the first place! I don't get them a ton.  She takes after me.  Eating actual food is a means to dessert.

She loves dancing and spends almost some part of each day in dance clothes while I turn on dance music and she'll say stuff like, "Mom, pretend you were my mom and everyone else in the audience is like, 'are you that girls mom?  SHE'S AMAZING!"

She loves to watch Angelina Ballerina, Daniel Tiger, and a show she calls Mckenna.  I'm not sure if that's the actual name or not.  It's about a young gymnast and it's terrible.  She watched Xanadu for the first time last weekend and I am proud, though not surprised, to say she loved it!

Everyday she's like, "Mom are we making cookie dough today?"  I mean, as if.  Just kidding that happens at least once a week and it's her favorite day.  She loves to help me and also takes after me that she loves the dough but could take or leave the cookies.

She loves to sing and is constantly making up her own songs.  She also loves to sing I Am A Child of God and when she's in charge of song for family night we're like, "hmm.  I wonder what she's going to pick..."

She loves when I take her picture, which happens about 1000 times a day.  900 of those times she's like, "are you going to send that to Dad?"  And she can't wait to hear his reaction.

The other day she swept the floor and she's like, "when Dad gets home, he's going to be like, 'wow!  who cleaned this floor!'"  She basically lives to please him.

Each night after she and Kendall get in bed they scream, "DAD!!!!  TUCK.  US.  IN!!!!!!"  Until he goes and sings to them and tucks them in.
